First off, the recipes have to be appealing, clearly written, and speak to the here and now. That means we pay attention to our customers who want eat gluten-free recipes, vegan and vegetarian cookbooks, zero or low alcohol drinks; modern cooking incorporates lots of dietary needs, and the best cookbooks will include recipes to accommodate all comers. We also look for beautiful design: scrumptious photography, charming illustrations, well-made bindings. A book about food or drink should look as good as the food it's hawking.
