Chutneys & Savory Jams
Chutney & savory jellies are condiments with a confusing identity. Something like relish, something like jam, these savory preserves are usually fruit- or vegetable-based, cooked down with a load of spices, resulting in a spread or accompaniment that will tone things up or down.
Flavors from the small batch brands we carry include tomato chutney, cranberry chutney, mango chutney and pepper jelly. Heirloom recipes using natural ingredients, high-quality and seasonal produce and custom-blended aromatics are made in small batches and created in the artisan tradition. Often these products rely on classical cooking methods and all-natural preservation techniques to create special flavors like tomato and white sultana chutney and purple eggplant with cumin and curry leaves. It's a culinary journey in one small bottle!
Onion Cabernet, Cherry Shiraz, Golden Pecan Pepper: savory condiments are the jam! Some are smooth, some are chunky; some are cooked, some are raw; some are served as a dip, some are served as a side dish, and some are spread on bread or crackers. The unifying feature of these savory jams is that they are made by grinding fresh ingredients together, and our collection of artisan products is a unique one.
Food-forward friends love to give savory jams or jars of spreadable fruit as hostess/host gifts, packed up with some special crackers or a baguette. Easily transportable, they make for good picnic food, too.
